Robert studied trumpet at The Guildhall School of Music and Drama. From there he went into the world of freelance orchestral, pop and session music. He has studied various ethnic instruments and traditions and now plays and writes music for over 50 instruments in all musical styles. Robert has worked in the theatre, in TV and in film, in his musical capacity and as an actor. His work has taken him to North and South America, Europe, Near and Far East. |

| Robert has worked for the BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Granada, Royal National Theatre, Royal Shakespeare Company, The English Shakespeare Company, various regional theatres, and many film scores. He also appeared, and played Highland pipes, in Sharpe's Rifles. In The New Scorpion Band Robert plays the Uilleann, Northumbrian, Lowland and Welsh bagpipes, whistles, wooden flutes, ney, cornet, euphonium, tenor Horn, French horn, tubas, vocals and percussion. |
